I'm thinking of going to a zumba class with a friend, but i'm not entirely sure what it involves. I'm not particularly overweight, but i'm quite unfit and i've heard it involves a lot of activity so will i be able to keep up with everyone? And how many calories will i burn? The class is an hour, i'm 18 years old, female, 5 ft 6 and weight about 133 pounds. Thanks :).

Dear Oko, Zumba is designed for everyone and you can take it at your own pace.Once you'll be starting a physical activity you need to take it easy in the beginning and slowly, slowly you'll increase your own level.Regarding the number of calories you'll burn has nothing to do with your size or weight but with the effort and the energy you apply in class.I'll advice you to have a look at my Facebook page where I've published 5 tips in how to burn more calories in class.Hope to meet you and your friend in class soon! Zumba love, Carla Lima
